The art of the Burn
The first burn matters most
The first burn is the most important one. Allow your CoBELL candle to burn long enough for the entire surface to melt edge to edge, reaching a full melt pool. This prevents tunneling and sets your candle up for a beautiful, even burn every time. For our 2-wick candle, plan on 3–4 hours. For our 1-wick candle, plan on 2–3 hours.
The right room
Every CoBELL fragrance is carefully formulated to fill your space beautifully. Our 1-wick candle is ideal for intimate spaces like a bedroom, bathroom, or home office. Our 2-wick candle is made for larger, more open living spaces.
The wick
CoBELL candles are made with premium lead-free cotton braided wicks specifically selected for a clean, consistent burn. Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to ¼ inch before every burn — this keeps the flame steady, the burn even, and prevents excess sooting. After extinguishing, gently wipe away any soot from the wick and recenter it for the next burn.
The burn
Never burn your CoBELL candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Stop burning when ½ inch of wax remains — continuing beyond this point can overheat and crack the vessel. Our 2-wick candle offers up to 70 hours of burn time. Our 1-wick candle offers up to 55 hours of burn time.
Common sense
Burn your CoBELL candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, open windows, fans, and air vents. Never leave a burning candle unattended, always burn within sight, and keep away from children, pets, and flammable materials. Extinguish before leaving the room or going to sleep.
The final note
Store your CoBELL candle with the lid on after it has cooled to protect the scent and keep debris out. One thing we've learned — never use the lid to extinguish the candle. Doing so traps smoke in the vessel, affecting the wax and compromising future scent throw.
